Design me a banner!

Hey,
So as is absolutely clear, I haven’t got a header for my site. As there are so many people who are better at this stuff than I am, I thought that rather than spend a day with pain, suffering and photoshop, I’d pay someone the princely sum of £10 in cash (paypal or in person if you’re local) or vouchers (amazon etc.) to do so for me. As such, a competition is born. I will be selecting the best entry next Wednesday, and if that is you, then you will be able to treat yourself to an early Christmas pressie (worth approximately £10). Wonderful! Stick to the guidelines below, and email it to me by Wednesday at 12 noon, and all will be fine and dandy.
- It should fit the width/depth of the space on the website, and high resolution.
- It can include any images from this site, of me or my work or from my CMON profile (search images from Cybersquig). Then you’ll truly see how bad my photoshop ability is lol!
- It should be clear from the header what I’m selling (my writing, sculpting and painting services)
- It should be bold (that is, it should stand out), and it should be in keeping with the theme of the site. Have a look around it…It’s still under construction, but you should get the picture.
- It should have my name in it somewhere
- It should be emailed to me (jamesgriffin@stroudcol.ac.uk) by Wednesday at 12 noon
- All entries become my intellectual property when they are submitted
- Also, let me know how you want your winnings!
It’s worth noting that I’ll be looking to offer a larger amount of money in the coming months to edit photographs for a book I’ve written, so keep an eye out for that, I’ll be commissioning someone £150 for that, possibly someone that has impressed me in this competition, so if that’s something that would interest you, then drop me an email through the site.
Thanks for looking,
James

What is the resolution of the website?
I’ve emailed my tech supporty friend… will let you know asap.
Thank you, I have an Idea of what I want to do, it’s a shame the picture on your CMON profile are JPEGS, if they where cleaner photos I could have used them.
Looked around the site though and very impressed with your work.
Thank you very much, I’m glad you like it. I can provide other pics of different projects if you wish, just let me know which ones you would like.
My tech supporty lady isn’t available, but I’ll grab someone else later this evening to find out the size.
I will give my brother a shout, he has made some excellent stuff for me and he did leaflets and flyers for that event at my church I told you about. I’m sure he would be interested in the photo editing too
Hope alls well
, liking the blog too.. might have to start my own (mostly pic based Like I said though
)
Alex
It would be great if I could have a image of the ninja goblin if it’s finished against a clean background (something white. Makes them easier to use.
And don’t worry to much about the resolution, I have a few ideas for the header if you like I can email the rough designs to you.
I’m afraid the ones against the inside of the shoebox are the best ones I’ve got. Photography is my achilles heel, and because he’s not done yet, the pics were only meant to be quick to get feedback on CMON and Platoon Britannica.
I’m intrigued to know what you’re thinking, so if you’d like some feedback you can email me a sketch. You’d better use james@colonialgames.co.uk so that I can access it away from college. That goes for anyone entering btw.
Thanks,
James
I have done jsut that.
Awesome, thanks Alex! looking foward to what he comes up with
Your current banner space is 940x110px using the same margins as on the rest of the site. I’ll try to cook something up!
Thanks Cmon Chrome, that’s great!
Heya, from the source code it looks like the width of the header is 930px.
I guess that would be a good width for the banner?
Sounds good to me
sadly when people say source code, I tend to stop understanding, but if that’s what it says, then go for it! Thanks!
Yeah, it does, 930×90. Breadhead got the right proportions.
