I don’t know what you mean by ‘grey stuff’ Joey…maybe apoxie sculpt or magic sculp? if it’s a two part putty, then mix some up 50/50 and it’s pretty easy to tell what it’s like if you also have Green stuff, mix a bit of each up, then look for the difference in elasticity, firmness, cure time and how easy it is to cut/sand cleanly. Sorry I can’t help more. You have a picture of the packaging?
