So, it seems like a good time to take some time to do some altering to a theme close to my heart, Tolkien’s ‘Lord of the Rings’.

Tweedledum/Tweedledee – The oafs of doom!

Hey,

Before I get to showing you shiny wip pics of tweedledum and tweedledee, I thought I should let you know the concept.  They’re two overgrown stupid, child like oafs.  No one knows their background, but suffice to say that they’re fast friends.  Twins even.  One isn’t human though, although you couldn’t tell either of them that, but one is clearly a robotic version of the other.

As for the sculpting, I’ve started with the fleshy one, Tweedledum.  I began with a rather odd shape armature, and filled it out with some spare milliput I had hanging around.  Then he got bits and pieces of leftover putty as I generated it.  Today I got hold of him properly, along with a bunch of pictures of hyper muscled men and comic book characters.  It’s been a real challenge to accentuate all the muscles, blowing the proportions I’m used to out of the window.  I’ve tried to make him less than human in other respects too, and it’s my plan to add some sort of detail around his spine, either sticking out hypodermic needles, cables like the one that is coming out of his head.  I’m up for thoughts on that.  I’m also up for suggestions on clothes.  Any thoughts? I’d really appreciate the feedback at this stage.

James

    Love the sculpt.

He sounds like he’ll have a Bane look about him with the needles and wires etc.

Will he be ‘pretty’, vain etc? Then he could be in a bathing suit – perhaps a mankini . . .

Your general theme is mental asylum (if I read correctly), so how about a ripped up straight jacket? If you go with the needles and wires etc then he would have been operated on, he could have on an operating gown, with restraints on his arms and legs.

Hope that helps out a little.

Thanks Rick, that’s nice of you to say.

Yeah, I was thinking that sort of thing for the clothes, but it also seems a little obvious too..ach I don’t know.,..I’m looking for some way of visually tieing him in with the rest of the range I think.

    Thanks dude!

@Chemical Fencer – I don’ like the mankini thing, sorry but that’s grim! However i love the restraints thing, I could work with that…watch this space… :) Thanks for the feedback!
